Terms of Service

Acceptance

By accessing or using epixtory ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform. We want this to work for everyone, but these are the ground rules.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use epixtory. If you're under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. One person, one account. Don't share login info, and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the stories, scripts, and assets you create on epixtory. By publishing content on the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as part of the Platform's normal operation. This license exists solely so we can serve your stories to readers. We don't claim ownership of your work.

If you remove your content from the Platform, we'll stop displaying it. Cached copies may persist briefly, but we won't actively distribute removed content.

Prohibited Content

Don't publish content that:

• Violates any applicable law or regulation
• Infringes on someone else's intellectual property rights
• Contains malware, phishing attempts, or malicious scripts
• Constitutes harassment, threats, or incitement to violence
• Exploits, harms, or attempts to harm minors in any way
• Impersonates another person or entity
• Contains personal information about others without their consent

We use a content rating system (Everyone, Teen, Mature, Adult) and content warnings. Authors are expected to rate and tag their stories accurately.

Intellectual Property

The epixtory platform, including its code, design, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Platform itself. Your content is yours; the Platform is ours.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity. On termination, your published content will be removed from public view. You may request a data export before deletion.

Disclaimers

epixtory is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee uptime, data preservation, or that the Platform will meet your specific needs. We're building this actively and things may break.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, epixtory and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free accounts, is zero).

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where the Platform's operators are located.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the Platform or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
